So here's a piece that came to me at work. Yeah, construction workers are always thinking of Shakespeare and graphic allegory.

For me
All for me. No one got me any coquille paper for Christmas. Hurm...Started this in the evening, waiting for the kids to go to sleep. Finished this afternoon just in time for a nap before dinner.

7/8
I do not want to go to work tomorrow. Really. I just want to stay home with the family and relax. Only Christmas day off. Joy. I really wish more people would submit images for me to work with. Hurm.

Cards who should be dealt with
Have I mentioned lately how absolutely tedious my current job is? Ugh. Good thing I have made a career of temporary employment. Don't tell my boss but I hope to have an interview with a different company very soon. I think the mud is probably getting to me. Working Downtown is great, though half the time we are down in the hole in the mud.

Gloria Grahame
A lunchtime sketch of Gloria Grahame. I know her face is a little wider but hey, you try doing this at a construction site.

Art stuff
Getting so one can't tell what what's light boxed from what was freehand. Maybe I'm actually learning how to draw. After all these years, I certainly hope so. The card idea comes from a series of sketches I did back in the 80's. I came across them while going through my old sketchbooks and said..."Hey why not try that again."

Ink and digital
From a photo I took way back in the olden days. Carnival in San Francisco. Early 90's. Ink on Bristol with a digital wash.

Ink, Ink, Ink. I think.
A little thing I've been wanting to do for a while. A nice 1950's couple getting their picture taken before the prom. Aww. Still learning about the 0/5 brush and acrylic ink.

Balboa Park, San Diego, Ca.
An ink on bristol piece. Not quite what I had set out to do, but I had to finish it. There is always that point where you wanna just crumple it up and start over. I pushed through and am reasonably happy with the results.

Gouache
Here's my first attempt at gouache on illustration board. One of these days I'll be able to do it like Al Parker or Coby Whitmore. Next one may be one those Big Head style things from the 50's.
